Competition between the maid of honor and a bridesmaid, over who is the bride's best friend, threatens to upend the life of an out-of-work pastry chef.

One of the most famous scenes in Bridesmaids takes place during a visit to an upscale bridal shop. Earlier, Annie has taken the bridal party to a Brazilian restaurant, partly to impress everyone and compete with Helen. Soon afterward, several of the women start feeling seriously sick. The scene reaches its peak when the bride, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), dressed in an expensive wedding gown, desperately tries to make it to a restroom. She doesn't make it in time and ends up having an accident outside the store, in full view of everyone around her.
