  • Ok so wet legs is the theme
During the race it remains hard to see in the live footage.
But I just saw Jessica from behind walking up the stairs for the interview round - with very wet legs

    • She definitely peed in the heats - in some photos you can see the individual droplets, though generally around her knees or below, and you can see a faint outline of a stain in some pictures, like here.

Gotta wonder what the behind the scenes conversations are about uniforms for Jessica - I personally think she's intentionally moved towards outfits that are less obvious.

Anyway, it's a bit more obvious from the semifinals that just happened, so I'll share some pics as proof of that!

      • From the semifinals! Hull qualifies for the finals, which is great news for all of us

        • Thanks for the pics!
That second pic in your last post, 220901... if all that darker colored is wetness, she really soaked her shorts? Wow...

            • That's what I meant, yes

              No larger picture of it?

              • Is anyone following any of the more long distance runners, like marathon or triathlon, and know if it's possible to catch anything there?

                • Jessica 3.

                    • I just watched it back (was at work when the race took place) - wow, what a race
About 10 seconds faster than the series and the semi-final. Jessica had to give everything for a medal, and she did - in every way

                      • I just started watching back today's broadcast, cause I wanted to see Femke Bol winning... and then I first see Jessica Hull ?
Nobody told me she's running the 800m as well

She ended third in the semi-final, and she was very happy with it! New AR.
So we can see her another time, in the 800m final on Sunday

Edit: she was added to the startlist only shortly before the race.
Edit 2: the reason was that she fell in the series yesterday (I totally missed that).
Edit 3: just watched that race back. She stumbled, only 240m into the race, after it got too crowded in one and the same lane.

                        • Aw, the 800m final was too much for Jessica! Everyone ran away from her right from the start. She tried real hard to hang on but she finished last. In the end the nr. 7 athlete before her slowed down, but it was just too late for Jessica to pass her.

                          • Jess has had an amazing couple of seasons and is the only one to really consistently give Kipyegon something to think about. It's a shame Kipyegon is so good but you have to hand it to her, she is one of the all time great track athletes, so Jess is doing amazing to keep near her.

I agree with what was suggested earlier on the forum, that this change in clothing is not an accident (no pun intended). This kind of sport-dry material has been around for years and is not new, but Jess's profile has shot through the roof since her silver medal in the Olympics last year and I suspect it is something she has become far more conscious of in the last couple of years.

If you think about it logically, she has been competing for years, training hard every day like all dedicated athletes must, and probably been weeing when she runs since the beginning of her career. We certainly know she was doing it throughout the time she was at Oregon. So she must have been aware of it all those years and known that she was walking round after each race having obviously pissed herself. I think, for most women, that would have been something they would want to hide, even in an environment where it was reasonably common and normalised. A reasonable number of women will pee when they race, but Jess is the only one who was so obvious about it. However, Jess never hid it.

So whilst I am not suggesting she is into it as a kink (that's a fanciful idea), I do genuinely believe she has historically been pretty relaxed about it. However, she is no longer just another promising athlete at Oregon, known only within the sport (and on this forum!). She is an Olympic silver medallist and will have a public profile even outside of athletics, particularly in Australia. She probably doesn't have a "PR team" so to speak, but Nike certainly do and as a Nike athlete, so they will be conscious of her level of fame. I expect she will also have an agent trying to get her things like endorsements, even if they are relatively small advertising campaigns in Australia. So it's not a surprise that they're just trying to be less obvious about it.

In a way, it's amazing she never did anything to hide it sooner. I did notice she never posted full body late race pics of herself on her Insta, any shots showing her shorts were taken pre-race or early on, when nothing was obvious. So perhaps she was a little embarrassed. But obviously not that much!

The great thing is that she has only hidden it from the general public. We know we can still look and those dry-fabric shorts are very good at what they do, but they're not magic!

The good news was that at the World's the Australian team had to wear PUMA green gear....

                              • Good point, I hadn't spotted that! But nonetheless, we have seen a lot less obvious wetness from her all this season, so I don't think the change in material is limited to her team AUS attire.
